Nice series, I like that fence+tower.

Do you find these sharp enough? With that lens and film, would the plate in the Dredd Scott monument be readable? I must test mine with a similar subject.

I think pictures are sharp enough, I need to check them in the darkroom as these were just DSLR-scanned quickly.
The monument Plaque is not readable, you can make the letters up but they were too small

Julio, I put the negative in the enlarger and raised it up as high as it goes (17X)
The plaque was sharp and and I guess it could be read, but the font and angle in which I took the pic makes it difficult.
I could see the numbers at the bottom with effort and imagination

That is a fine performance for lens and film (and the photographer too).

The Contessa is one of the final great folding 35mm cameras from Zeiss Ikon, which didn't really make many folding 35mm cameras.

The only pre-war 35mm folder is the Super Nettel, right? And the only other folding 35mm cameras was the Ikonta/Contina, Contina II and Contessa.

At one time, I owned about a dozen of these. I gave away or sold all but two.

Also the Balda Baldinette. I have an (currently non-working, although I suppose I ought to try to do something about that) otherwise nice-looking copy that I picked up at an antique mall in Denton, Texas for $35 (?) some years ago.
