Taking camera restoration to a whole new level

Photographer Dora Goodman's handcrafted restorations breathe life into old cameras, with additions such as gold and wood. Despite their beauty and expense, she's not willing to sell her creations.

This article on Yahoo is about a young lady who does camera restoration and then puts them to use. Her rehab includes a lot of custom woodwork. They're attractive and very functional.

Read the article here.

Awesome! Thanks for that link, Mike. I think I have found my project(s) for when I retire in about 6 months...

I think a lot of us would agree with her: “Working on cameras, taking and develop pictures is my meditation."

I just ordered the exact same tabletop vise at Amazon. That should put me on the way hehe... Of course, all I need now is some talent like that girl has!

It's been my dream to learn how to do black paint versions of cameras that never were black painted. Then cover them with some sort of odd leather.

PF I have a friend who can do that. He works in a Body Shop and also does scale models.
