The diminutive 58mm Jena Biotar

I don't know if this is the first model, but I think that it was. It's the small version of the Carl Zeiss Jena f/2.0 58mm Biotar, and it has no aperture pin. Like a rangefinder lens, when you rotate the aperture ring, the blades close. P5130632.jpg P5130634.jpg P5130633.jpg This is another camera t...

What I did in the past week

All of the cameras that I restored in the past week. Most of these I've owned for more than a decade. Re: IKOFLEX lens swap.

The collimation process works with any camera. This weekend, I recollimated an Ikonta 35, an Ikonta 6x9, a Baby Box Tengor and a Retina IIS.

All used the same method, although in this case, I am using a digital camera for the collimating process.

Re: Ansco Super Memar

That's too bad. That front element is beyond help, unless you're looking for that low-contract not-sharp look.

Re: Screwdrivers

Radio Shack used to sell high-quality tools. One time, they sourced an inferior product. The blades were soft and easily misshapen. Here's one set that you might want to investigate. If you cannot get them, let me know. I probably can buy and ship to you. I had a Radio Shack set similar to this. htt...

Re: Kodak Retina IIS

I'm sort of on a roll right now. I also serviced my own Contax IIIa and a Retina IIIc this week.

Somewhere I have a Lomo and a Fed. The Fed needs work (don't they all?).

Kodak Retina IIS

P5060517.jpg I've owned this Kodak Retina IIS for more than a decade and just now decided to get it back into shape. This camera is slightly smaller than its bigger sibling the Retina IIIS. The IIS is a fixed-lens camera with an f/2.8 45mm Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar lens. P5060523.jpg The Retina IIS...

Re: Kodak Signet 40

I like your photos a lot. Great colors in them. I haven't shot film in a long time, and I think that it's time for a Sunday outing.

Kodak Signet 40

P5040475.jpg I've had one of these cameras for some time, and it's posed quite a challenge, because I wasn't able to figure out how to remove the top deck. I thought that I had to remove a screw under the plate on the rewind disk. I tried everything to remove it, including a heat gun. As it turns o...
