Nice images, Alex. A demonstration of the successful use of an all manual, complicated camera. I know some people who use the latest all-singing-and-dancing digital gizmos who couldn't have captured images as good as these. Bravo!

Press the button in the centre of the AF/MF lever and hold it in. Change the AF mode with the rear control dial (AF - S, AF-A, AF-C). Change the AF point with the front control dial (Single point, Auto) and set the number of AF points in the Custom Setting menu (a. Autofocus)

Thanks, Alex and Graham. I'm still trying to figure out how to change the metering and focusing modes, Graham, as those seem to have been buried in the menu while they were buttons on the D300s. I was really surprised to see that there are b&w filters for digital cameras, too. Bill Delehanty There are only two optical filters that are useful on a digital camera - a polarising filter and a clear protective filter. All of the rest can be reproduced digitally.
