Re: Oops...
On my Solinette I used WD40 with success. I guess it all depends how hardened the old stuff is, or how long since the parts moved.

Re: The little Konishiroku Pearl II
Thanks Alex. I really enjoyed shooting with it. It feels well built and it's really compact and heavy. I must get used to a fixed film advance routine though - as I tend to forget if I already wound on for the next shot or not. I often forgot to close the red window shutter too (it's actually a yell...

The little Konishiroku Pearl II
The little Konishiroku Pearl II : a cute little 6x4.5 folder from Konica with a coupled rangefinder. I was looking for a Pearl III, but most of them on the auction site are in bad shape : especially the leatherette has suffered severely. Then I found a model II in good condition in the local ads. Th...

Summer fields
Since my return to this forum a couple of weeks ago I haven't been too active here. The frosty weather of the past few weeks, as well as the dreaded pandemic had me stay inside, busy trying to get to grips with my new MacBook Air M1. I dug up a few photos from the past summer to try out some editing...

Re: Fixing Agfa bellows
If you don't want to tackle the replacement of the bellows yourself, you can send the Isolette to Jurgen Kreckel. Many years ago I sent my Isolette III to him for a CLA, brassing and a new red leather bellows. It wasn't cheap, and now I regret having spent that much money on such a 'simple' camera. ...

Re: Missing friends
I am sorry to hear that Claudia passed away. I hope Lester is still doing fine. I sold him a Nikon EM camera many years ago and he sent me an art proof print by Jan Cox that he got from the artist when he stayed in Belgium.

Re: The Retina IIIS
I once bought one on evilbay. It was in very good condition and I liked it very much. Like all Retina cameras it felt well made with a nice viewfinder, great lenses and silent shutter. Unfortunately, shortly after the thumb wheel under the lens mount got stuck. Trying to free it ended in disaster : ...
