Re: Mist and Fog

Beautiful scenes, beautiful pictures. They are so calm, they remind me of a man who picked me up hitchhiking about fifty years ago. He was from Britain and working temporarily here in Newfoundland. He told me he missed only a few things from home, but the thing he would never get used to here was th...

Re: When a mediocre lens dies

Nice replacement. I have a ten-year-old Pen EP-1 and, despite my hopes when I bought it, I have never liked it. Maybe I should turn it into a dedicated pinhole, too. :)

As an old folklorist, I too love ghost stories explained! :).

Re: Wide Angles, 10mm or less?

For almost five years, I have had an 8mm Olympus lens for my OM-D. I do use it now and again (just to remember what it's like!), but it's a sort of one-trick pony and I have not really figured out what to with that one trick.

Re: Postcard circle event.

Aha! Today, Monday 13/7/20, I received Pablo's Galapagos postcard (with a half-moon in the sky above :) ). Yay!

It was postmarked 19/6, so it took just over three weeks.

Re: Postcard circle event.

My July card to Scott went out early this week (Monday 6th July, I think).

I've received none in the past few months. (The last one I received may have been in February!)

Re: Postcard circle event.

My June card to Pablo was mailed earlier this week, the 8th of June, I think. Fingers crossed for a speedy trip.

It has been a while since I have received one. . . March month maybe.

Re: Thinking ahead

I do 95% of my picture taking nowadays with two digital cameras. One is my Fujifilm X100T, which was a slight improvement over my old X100. A better carry-around digital camera than one of these I can't think of. The slight improvement, for me, was the rearrangement of the manual-autofocus switch so...
