Franka Rolfix II

Given I'm on a bit of a real-camera resurgence roll, I thought I'd take out one of the first folding cameras I bought, back in the early noughties when living in NL. It's a Franka Rolfix II , a 6x9 that also comes with a 6x6 mask and a 105mm f3.5 Rodenstock-Trinar lens. It's a non-rangefinder with a...

Re: Weha Chrome-Six

I do recall quite some time back issues with Foma and Efke leeching frame numbers. It may have been due to a combination of the ink and backing paper reacting. That was my last roll of very expired Foma, which was also curlier than a spring. No issues with similar aged Neopan 400.

Re: Weha Chrome-Six

A couple more from the expired Fomapan in the Weha, shot around f11. There was loads of crud on the film, the last frame even had the imprint of one of the numbers off the backing paper - interesting as a red window is not used apart from setting frame 1. 20230205-Weha-10.jpg 20230205-Weha-9.jpg Nex...

Re: Weha Chrome-Six

The example shot was around f8 IIRC, but is still exhibits vignetting when stopped down to f11 or f16. I might have to do some proper tests...

Re: Weha Chrome-Six

Here's an unprocessed "whole frame" shot that I've not done any processing on. Ignore all the spots (some detritus in the fixer I think). You can see how soft it is off centre, with some vignetting too. Might have to take the rear lens(es) out to see if they are installed correctly. https://lh3.goog...

Re: Weha Chrome-Six

Here's a the first couple of shots scanned and processed. These were taken on some expired Fomapan 100, developed in 510-Pyro 1+200. These are probably 50x50mm crops from the frames, but you can still see some vignetting in the corners. I'll upload some scans from some frame edges later so you can g...

Weha Chrome-Six

As promised in the camera porn thread, here's a more detailed write-up on my Weha Chrome-Six. IMG_4090 Weha - front.jpeg I've had this for a few years, bought off our local Kiwi auction site. I bought it as much out of curiosity as anything else, never having come across one before. Camerapedia sugg...

It's Japanese. Mine's from 1941 or thereabouts.

Re: Camera Porn Friday

Here's one I found earlier..... I've had this for a few years, bought off our local Kiwi auction site. When I got it the shutter was a bit erratic, so had the shutter CLA'd by someone that knows what he's doing ;-) The rangefinder patch was very, very faint, so on the couple of occasions I did use i...
