Re: Hi again

Hi, Benny - Welcome back. I need to process film and scan negatives. I'm actually building a Windows XP computer with parts from two older computers that a colleague gave to me. I also need to shoot some film. Are you building the XP machine to handle a scanner? Yes, I am. Someone at work gave me t...

Re: Archival scans

That's a good looking lens. I like it a lot. Even in that photo, you can really see the high quality of the construction.

Fixing Agfa bellows

I saw that someone had mentioned this. Agfa folding cameras are notorious for two things: green cement-like grease and plastic bellows. I have an Isolette III that had an average Apotar lens and plastic bellows. I used gaffer's tape (not duct tape) to repair the bellows. Eventually, there were so ma...

A little known Russian photographer

My wife sent this link to me, and it's a very good online article about a Russian photographer. He used a Lubitel 2.

Re: The Retina IIIS

Of course, I've owned one of these. There is a string that connects the aperture to the shutter speed ring and also to the meter. It's very complex, and after it breaks, you have a meter that's no longer connected to the shutter speed or aperture rings. The lenses for this are quite good, and I alwa...
