Repairing dents in the filter ring

I have a couple of old lenses with dents, and I'd like to repair them

I looked at those "lens vise" tools and wanted to know if anybody has used them?
Any advice on how not to destroy the lens??

PFMcFarland recommended PB Blaster... after 3 days in the stuff it moved! I'm a believer! It smells like a combination of aliphatic and aromatic low weight hydrocarbons and it dissolved the agfa green goo. A paper towel full and 3 qtips of green It also works in corroded battery chambers! I shot my last roll of 120 EFKE a decade ago, it was sad to see that Fotokemika (Samobor) had been demolished when I visited Croatia
I was fortunate not to have paper problems, but yes numbers have become super dim and very hard to read

Julio, I put the negative in the enlarger and raised it up as high as it goes (17X) The plaque was sharp and and I guess it could be read, but the font and angle in which I took the pic makes it difficult. I think pictures are sharp enough, I need to check them in the darkroom as these were just DSLR-scanned quickly.
The monument Plaque is not readable, you can make the letters up but they were too small
