Re: GAS

Julio, my dad was a Zeiss person (Pentax after 1972) but one of my uncles used to carry a Voigtlander Vito and I always remembered how cool that logo was, especially the stylized V. These old Voigtlanders are great, lots of attention to detail in things like the stitching of the leather, the locatio...

Re: GAS

I think the Vito II is the postwar version of the I, where they renamed the lens to Color-Skopar and did a few small things in the camera. This one is a nifty camera, and it came with filters (yellow and orange), proxi filters, hood, kontur finder, etc. I'll test it this weekend at the antiques fest...

Re: GAS

Thanks Graham, IN this one the scale is white, in a black plastic ring. The numbers are tiny (about 2mm), I cleaned the ring with a moist q-tip to see if it was grime as I don;t think I can get them painted . I'll have to disassemble the lens, let me see about that -- yeah I did take the ring out, a...

Re: FREE camera repair course texts

ON another site there was a big discussion pro and against Ronsonol/Nafta I have been using it for a while to clean shutters and seems to work fine, but a repair "pro" recommended to use contact cleaner instead because it leaves no residue; calling Ronsonl "amateur piss" Seems a bit too much?? Thoug...

Re: GAS

Cameras used to be expensive, it is incredible how commoditized they have become and thus sparking a popularization of photography! On the other hand, I checked the speeds with a microphone and they are within 10% which should not be a problem with film latitude And I used a trick I learned from Don...

Re: GAS

As a side effect of the pandemic, I got my Vitessa back to life! It is about the same as yours, with the Color-Skopar. I havent used it since 2009 I think. https://live.staticflickr.com/1229/817168659_b7a9891b01.jpg Voigtlander Vitessa N My only problem (which I had almost forgtten) is that the rewi...
