Meyer-Optik 30mm Lydith

Meyer-Optik Goerlitz is rapidly making a name for itself among art photographers.

Those are the ones who aren’t concerned about utlimate sharpness and creamy bokeh. In fact, those who support the Meyer-Optik lens projects celebrate the old world quality of these lenses.

Meyer-Optik has announced its fifth lens that will be funded via a Kickstarter campaign – the Lydith f/3.5 30mm. This is another of its lens designs for film cameras.

The Lomography Neptune Art Lens System

Lomography has taken the concept of interchangeable lenses in a new direction with its Lomo Neptune Convertible Art Lens system.

This is composed of numerous parts: three lenses, a lens base and a set of six aperture plates.

The three lenses are a f/3.5 35mm Thalassa, f/2.8 50mm Despina and f/4.0 80mm Proteus. The lens base has its own aperture ring, while there are six plates with special-shaped cutouts to add fun to your photography.

f/D Book of Pinhole

Pinhole is photography in its most basic sense. No lens. No shutter. Just a tiny hole and film – and today, a digital sensor.

A new Kickstarter project aims to publish a book that celebrates pinhole photography.

f/D Book of Pinhole contains the works of photographers who responded to a “call for entries” earlier this year through the f/D website (http://www.fslashd.com), which focuses solely on pinhole photography.

And like the Trioplan, Meyer-Optik is turning to a Kickstarter campaign to secure funding and gauge interest in the lens.

Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64

Lomography is at it again. After bringing back two Petzval lenses, it has reached deeper into the history books to create the Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens.

This is a 64mm optic with just two lens elements. Lomography says the original Daguerreotype Achromat was introduced in 1839 and was the world’s first photographic lens.

As it did successfully with both Petzval lenses, Lomography is funding this through a Kickstarter campaign.
