Nikon Releases the New Z Series Version 2.0 Firmware with Enhanced Features and Performance Including Eye-Detection AF

MELVILLE, NY – Nikon Inc. is pleased to announce the release of firmware Ver. 2.0 that will further enhance the performance of its full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Nikon Z 7 and Nikon Z 6.

Users will enjoy three main additional features following the Ver. 2.0 upgrade. These include:

With the release of Hasselblad’s most recent XCD Lenses, the XCD 65, 80, and 135 including X Converter 1,7, the new 1.22 Firmware Update ensures photographers are equipped with the most up-to-date tools for capturing their creative visions. Alongside the latest 0.5.33 lens firmware, this update also includes a list of minor improvements that advance the overall functionality of the X1D- 50c mirrorless medium format camera.

Fujfilm has announced the next two lenses for its mirrorless GFX system – the GF f/2.0 110mm R LM WR and the GF f/4.0 23mm R LM WR. Meanwhile, the company also said it would release a firmware update soon to impove camera functions in several ways.

Firmware update v1.2 addresses an issue when the lens was mounted to the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II in which the autofocus did not work when C-AF was selected.

Sigma firmware update improves the stability of sd Quattro

Sigma has released a firmware update for its mirrorless interchangeable-lens sd Quattro camera.

The firmware addresses and corrects two issues:

The sd Quattro would freeze while shooting.

Depending on the camera’s settings, shooting via SIGMA Capture Pro 1.2 did not operate the camera properly. Sigma did not provide details.

To update the camera’s firmware, make sure that the battery is fully charged.

Leica firmware updates improve usability of full-frame Q and SL cameras

Leica has released updates for two of its full-frame mirrorless cameras – the Q and SL.

Each update provides different features and functionality for the digital cameras.

Firmware update 2.0 for the fixed-lens Q now allows the photographer to select DNG as a recordable format. DNG is Leica’s RAW format.

Previously, photos could only be recorded as JPG or DNG+JPG.

Fujifilm has issued another firmware update for its X-Pro2 camera, improving autofocus and providing compatibility with its new new electronic flash.

Sigma updates firmware in several lenses

Sigma has announced firmware updates for three lenses, which provide compatibility with particular cameras or address certain issues.

The firmware update for the Sports and Contemporary version of the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM affects only the Nikon mount. The update corrects a situation in which overexposure occurred when the lens was paired with the Sigma TC-1401 Teleconverter and used on a Nikon D500 DSLR body.

Leica T firmware update improves WiFi connectivity

Leica has released a firmware update for its Leica T system that improves its WiFi functions.

The version is v1.5, although it’s really v1.51, because Leica added a minor update that corrects a bug in a particular situation.

The firmware update increases data-transfer speeds with external hotspots, as well as allowing the camera to create a hotspot for connection to WiFi-enabled devices, such as smartphones or tablets that have the Leica T app installed.
