Canon said to be working on premium fixed-lens full-frame compact

Canon Rumors alleges that the camera maker is working on a full-frame compact digital camera that will have a non-interchangeable high-speed f/2.0 35mm L lens. The site estimates that the camera would cost about US$3,000, but is not basing that guess on anything other than current competition. The accompanying photo shows an f/1.4 lens on a non-Canon body.

New EOS M gear might be announced in late February

Canon Rumors reports that Canon might announce products for its mirrorless EOS M cameras at the CP+ show in Tokyo in late February. However, the site didn't indicate where it was a lens, body or other accessory. Its source did claim that it was for Canon's "prosumer" camera, which is baffling, because none of the cameras are built for pro photographers. Currently, Canon has the EOS M3 and the EOS M10, which has fewer features.
